As the “Umuda Koşanlar Derneği” (Association of Runners to Hope), we are delighted to say that we succesfully opened 11 water wells in 11 different villages in Kousséri of Cameroon between the dates of 12-20th of January 2019 as a part of the 1st stage of our Hope Springs Water-Well Project. We also planted 5 mango trees to be taken care at by the regional chiefs along with each one of water wells opened on behalf of our individual and other donors contributed to our pool account for this project. Our aim was to make sure that the local community can benefit from the wells and children can eat fruits. We distributed meat of sacrificial animals during the opening ceremonies to the families in need and had the opportunity to play various games and have fun with children living in the villages.
Following the Water Wells opened in Cameroon, we searched for the villages being in need of help and support in the countryside of N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, as part of our 2nd stage works. In the villages we have visited, we not only had a chance to provide 1000 Qur’an in total for the children who are memorizing Qur’an without having it but also distributed 1000 t-shirts with Turkish flag, clothes, soap and toys. In addition, we offered our alms to the families, sick ones and disabled people who are in urgent need of help.
